Collect Additional Modules

To complement Collect and enhance its functionality we have created a number of additional modules;

File Import Modules

Document Scanning

Our document scanning module is a Windows Forms application that connects to your local TWAIN compliant scanner allowing you to scan documents either directly in to the system or as jobs which can be assigned to users for metadata assignment at a later time. Furthermore, jobs can be configured to be processed by one of the data recognition modules automating the metadata assignment process.

Collect Print Driver

Using the Collect print driver you can use any Windows application that has the ability to print and send information directly to the Collect system. Printing through the driver converts the output to PDF and then requests key metadata information to ensure that files can be located correctly in the file structure.

Microsoft Office 2010 Plug-ins

Store all of your Microsoft Office files directly in Collect with the Microsoft Office 2010 add-ins. This useful set of add-ins create buttons in the ribbon bars which at the click of a button send your active document directly to the Collect system. Specifically, the Outlook plug in allows you to store not only the original email but also any associated attachments. Currently available for Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Windows Shell Integration

Extensions to the Windows shell allow you to right click any file on your system and send it directly to Collect. As with other input modules, on selection, you are requested for the relevant folder and metadata and the file is immediately available within Collect.

Data Recognition Modules

Barcode/Optical Character Recognition

These recognition modules work in conjunction with the document scanning module and allow metadata to be assigned to documents based on barcodes or text recognised on the scanned images. The configuration allows you to specify one or more regions to process, limiting multiple areas to be checked. These module can work either as the documents are being scanned or as part of an automated job.

Forms Recognition

Provides the facility to classify and align forms to match a set of predefined templates and then read marks.

Automatic Indexing Module (AIM)

With the Automatic Indexing Module folders can be configured for monitoring such that when files are added to the folder, they are automatically added to the Collect system. Metadata can be applied based on the filename or the files can be routed as a job for manual assignment.
